The Marion Grotto was built from the ground up, starting with a large footing designed for Houston's expansive soil. A robust rebar superstructure was created to secure the castings, which were then tied in place. The backside was formed, and an 8-inch minimum void was filled with 3000 PSI concrete, carefully vibrated to ensure strength and stability.
